Children Making medical descisions
Mood:  irritated
Topic: People
I had been watching something on PBS about medicating children, specifically those with ADD, or as it is now called, ADHD. I thought it was rediculous that one set of parents were letting thier daughter basically decide what to do about it, in terms of:

"hey," says the doctor, "did you know there is a new medication called aderal?" "Oh there is," exclaimed the girl who supposedly has ADHD? "Maybe I can take aderal in the morning and then riddlin before gymnastics." "That's a good idea," the doctor promoted (who gains some cha-ching out of all this crap, by the way).

Then a teacher said they need to give her all the tools they have (calling riddlin a tool) and that she and other teachers liked this girl better now that she is on riddlin again.

You see, instead of just dealing with the fact that this girl has attention problems, by finding ways to keep the girl busy with task after task or other things to promote the girl wanting to control her attention, this teacher was more pleased with drugging the girl so that she would never learn to deal with her "ADHD" and she would then have to take medication all her life in order to focus on anything!

One parent said it best. She said that she loved her little boy for who he was and she loved that he was so full of energy. She did mention that he was a handful, but also that is no excuse for covering the problem with some drug, just because other people (mostly teachers) say they should.

You see, these drugs (such as riddlin and aderal) do not fix ADHD, or ADD, or AADD, or any other "problem." All they do is relax the individual who is taking them so thier hyperactivity is suppressed and they can then focus a little better. They do not get rid of, or cure ADHD. They simply allow the parent (or teacher) to not have to worry about thier child so much because the riddlin has calmed the child down. Heck, I have a hard time focusing about a lot of things, especially things like school (which I, along with every other child, teen, and college kid hate). So should I take some riddlin? No! If I allowed myself to think that there was an easy way out by downing a pill every morning then I would start to use my "disease" as an excuse for being lazy! I would say that I cannot pay attention and it is not my fault. When I told people that I had an attention deficit dissorder and was on riddlin, they would excuse my behavior and do nothing to try and help me. When I don't take my medication, people would then encourage me to get back on it, instead of just accepting the fact that the me not on drugs is the real me and they will have to deal with it.

ADHD is stupid. Some doctor may be able to link crap to other crap and say it's scientifically right. But people like teachers should not be looking for the easy way out, especially when it comes to prepareing children to function as mature, social, self-reliant adults. They should be doing everything in thier power to teach these kids that they may have some malfunction, but they need to learn to focus at certain times, and play around at other times (except in a more extreme degree than others).

I guess this is another example of people wanting a quick solution so they don't have to deal with it anymore. The ME/Now generation is headed for preoblems in the future. Are you ready to deal with them?

[by the way, i'm not really sure if I'm spelling the drug names correctly, just to let you know]

[I'm also sure I have misspelled 'thier' a couple times and probably in this sentence as well]

Judge "No-Views"
Topic: Poli-ticks
OMG!

Had to write about this.

All the Judge stuff that is going on. These people are voting on and off about these judges because of thier views and how thier views will affect thier judgement.

If you don't use your views, religious background, morals, as well as common sense when judging something, then what do the judges we have in the Supreme court now use? Do they simply just follow the constitution? This may be good and all, but the constitution was written by man about a couple hundred years ago.

First off we interpret the constitution differently today than people did when it was written, and if you really want to get political about it; the constitution was actually written to sound good. So people would want to hold up against the English King.

This constitution that everybody holds so dear can be manipulated in many different ways because certain passages or sections could be interpretted in different ways. Just like the Bible...hmmm...

But the Bible is God's word and I doubt God had the Bible written as a political move.

The constitution of the United States of America is constantly be updated, not by amendments, but by new technologies as well as what people think it means today, vs yesterday.

Bottom line: how do we know that the constitution is constitutional (not literaly speaking)?

Just because it's law (abortion) doesn't mean it's right or moral or just.

While I agree that the Supreme court should not create law, I also beleive that the Supreme court should not just rely on the constitution to decide many judgments. If people don't like the law, then they should work on changing it, but that doesn't mean that the supreme court should blindly follow some hundred year old document just because that's the law.

Do not take this to mean I don't care about braking the law and I think government is stupid. I simply think nobody (including myself) is perfect, and that includes Supreme Court Judges, the President and even the Pope.

No More Religion?

Ok. There is this lady. She wants all the mentioning of God on the airwaves to cease.

Her name is Madeline Murray O'Hare. She want's saying "God" on TV and radio to be illegal. She took stuff to some court somewhere and got "Touched by an Angel" taken off the air.

Ok, so, I think she is being unreasonable, rediculous, and a little crazy, but if that's something she wants to do, then that's fine. Here's what I want...

If she gets "God" taken of the air, then I want all other religions taken off the air also. I want no mention of Buddah, or Allah, or any of the Ancient Greek Gods (meaning the ban of Hercules). I want no mention of any ancient Chinese ways and customs, and I want no mention of anything that has to do with spirits of any kind (there goes Pocahontas, Mulan, Ghost Busters, Aliens, etc.) I want nothing on TV unless it pertains to actual proven fact. Nothing about aliens, or spirits, or other worldly beings, or other dimensions (there goes the entire SciFi network). Unless you can't say it isn't true, then I don't want it on the airwaves polluting my way of life.

Although, maybe the reason she wants God to be done away with is because she finds that she sees Him everywhere. She feels like He is bearing down on her and instead of giving in to His love, she is afraid that she will be ruined by letting herself believe something that science has failed to prove. If she would only swallow her pride and realize that God cannot be sensored.

So I end with this:

God, Jesus Christ, Heaven, Immaculate Conception, abortion is wrong because God says so.

She can't sensor the whole internet.

New Jeans
Mood:  not sure
Topic: Family
My brother is...well, let's say he's stupid. He is getting ready to hopefully go to the mall so he can buy new jeans. The stupid part is that he always complains he doesn't have any money, he is wearing a pair of jeans, and, oh yah, the really stupid part, just the other day he sat down and began ripping a perfectly good pair of jeans to pieces because he thought that it would make them look cooler.

By the way, he has more than one pair of jeans also.

So is that stupid or what. It sounds to me like he is making an excuse to go out and talk to his girlfriend, who just this morning called our house and asked to talk to our sister and not him.

What a bone head

Expect to see many philisophical things here (who puts "philisophcal" and "things" right next to each other), as well as some of the most interrupting, and annoying blabbering the whole world has seen. Nothing here will get to the point in any sort of quick manner. Except for the things that do. Duh, huh?

So thanks for reading, and sorry too, in a way, that if you do find this interesting you have to listen to me blab alot in the middle of the points I will try to be making.

Anywho, l8r.
